The Sinner.
It’s on USA…actually I’m not sure what night it’s on. That’s the beauty of On Demand. It shows up and I watch it. It’s an 8 episode, close-ended series based on a novel I never read or heard of before now. There are 7 episodes available so you can get your binge on before the final episode next week.
This is not a whodunit. We know Cora (Jessica Biel) did it. We see her commit the murder on a crowded beach almost right away. The question is why. And what a ride that is. Cora has a dark and twisted past that is slowly uncovered by Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman). P.S. He has his own “issues,” too.
The Sinner may not be for everyone. There is some f*cked up shit going on here. In the beginning, you keep asking, “Who hurt you, girl?” And then as you get deeper into the story, you start asking, “Who didn’t hurt you, girl?”
So if dysfunction families, drugs, kidnapping, a sick (on so many levels) sister, S&M, weird wallpaper and a giant crucifix don’t scare you off… The Sinner is the show for you.
